(CBS/AP) Singer Etta James, whose health has been fading in recent years, is now terminally ill, and her live-in doctor is asking for prayers.
Dr. Elaine James, who isn't related to the 73-year-old entertainer, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the singer's chronic leukemia was declared incurable two weeks ago.

Her longtime manager, Lupe De Leon, told EW.com, "Etta has a terminal illness. She's in the final stages of leukemia. She has also been diagnosed with dementia and Hepatitis C. She's in a home right now and mostly sleeps. She is under the care of a live-in doctor from Riverside Community Hospital and two others who have placed her on oxygen. Her husband is with her 24 hours a day, and her sons visit regularly. We're all very sad. We're just waiting."
Elaine James says the "At Last" singer's communication consists mostly of "uh-huhs" and "no's.
The doctor says she's spreading word of the singer's ailments so people will pray for her. She says fans know Etta James has been sick "but not how sick."
Court records in the singer's probate case show she also suffers from dementia and kidney failure.
Elaine James made her comments outside a Riverside conservatorship hearing over the singer's $1 million estate. The singer's son, Donto James, wants a conservator rather than the singer's husband, Artis Mills.
She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Etta James No. 62 on its 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list.
Etta James has been active on the music scene in recent years. In 2009, she performed on "Dancing With the Stars" and sang at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Also that year, Etta James complained after Beyonce sang her 1961 classic, "At Last," during President Barack Obama's inauguration ball. She later said it was a joke.

According to TMZ...Vanessa files for divorce from Kobe

Kobe Bryant's wife has filed for divorce ... TMZ has learned. 

Vanessa Bryant filed legal docs Friday afternoon, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ ... Vanessa -- who stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 -- decided to end the marriage because she believes Kobe has been unfaithful ... again.

As one source puts it, "She's been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she's finally had enough," adding, "This one is the straw that broke the camel's back."

And our sources say ... Kobe "desperately" wants to win Vanessa back and will do "whatever it takes" to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.

According to the legal docs, Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their 2 daughters -- 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana -- but Vanessa is asking that Kobe get visitation rights, which means she wants the kids in her care most of the time.

We've learned the couple has NO PRENUP, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half of the empire Kobe built over the last decade.

She's also requesting spousal support ... which is typical in divorce cases.  Kobe, who filed his response to the divorce minutes after Vanessa filed her petition, says he will pay her spousal support.

According to the docs, Vanessa is being repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser and attorney Samantha Klein. Wasser reps oodles of celebs, including Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Maria Shriver and Kim Kardashian.

Kobe went to the Jay-Z concert Tuesday night in L.A. without Vanessa, and people who saw him there say he looked miserable.

Vanessa signed the divorce petition on December 1.  Kobe signed his response on December 7.

Oh yeah, that $4 million ring Kobe gave Vanessa after the 2003 scandal .... It's all hers.  A gift is a gift.

The Bryants released a join statement ... saying they have "resolved all issues" privately, with the assistance of counsel.

According to TMZ..

According to court documents filed in Georgia, a woman named Stacey Hott claims Roddy is the biological father of her 4-month old baby boy … and she believes Roddy should provide child support … lots and lots of child support.
In fact, Hott claims. “[White] is a professional athlete capable of providing generous support for the minor child commensurate with his earnings.”
The “earnings” that Hott is referring to is a $50 million contract White signed in 2009.
She’s also demanding Roddy take out a life insurance policy for himself ASAP … for the “benefit of the minor child.”

Life & Style is reporting a non-stop line of communication between the exes ever since the divorce announcement.
According to a source:

Reggie reached out to Kim via text shortly after she announced she was filing for divorce to make sure she was okay. They’ve stayed in touch ever since, texting and talking.
He’s concerned about her; he’s making sure she’s holding it together. Reggie always knew that it wasn’t going to work [between Kim and Kris], so he’s been waiting and watching.

Hours after announcing that she filed for divorce from Bishop Eddie Long, Vanessa Long announced that she was withdrawing her divorce petition.

"Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long," she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. "I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage."

"After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011," Vanessa Long said in a statement.
